I have been an educator for almost 25 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Secondary Teaching Degree from Stillman College, a Master’s Degree and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Alabama.
I taught secondary Science for 18 years. I love to write plays. My husband and I have nine children and 13 grandchildren. My husband, children, and I love to cook together.
I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each of you as the Assistant Principal of General Administration at Eastwood Middle. It is with great excitement and anticipation that we kick off yet another successful year at our school. As we embark on this journey together, I am filled with enthusiasm and optimism for the opportunities that lie ahead. My commitment to supporting our students’ growth, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and working closely with all members of our school community is unwavering.
I look forward to getting to know each of you, listening to your ideas, and collaborating to create an environment where every individual feels valued, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.
This starts my 9th year at Eastwood. I previously taught at the elementary level and in a collaborative setting. I am a proud girl dad to Annalynn, enjoy listening to and making music, and you may catch me wearing orange and rooting for my favorite team: The Tennessee Volunteers!
Together, let’s embark on a journey of exploration, discovery, and growth, as we strive to make Eastwood Middle School a beacon of excellence in education: The Eastwood Way!
Greetings! It is a great day to be a member of the Stampede Nation! I am Mrs. Shemia Jackson Wilson and I am delighted to begin my 4th year here at Eastwood and in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. Here at EMS, I serve as the Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Instruction as well as the 8th grade and 6th grade (Trailblazers) administrator. I am a 25 year veteran educator and advocate of public education. As an educator, I taught middle and high school English/Language Arts for 12 years and served as an administrator for the past 13 years. In my capacity as an administrator, I served as an assistant principal, principal and secondary curriculum specialist.
I received an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Montevallo, a Master of Arts from the University of West Alabama in Educational Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English/Language Arts from my beloved Stillman College.
My personal and professional goals are one in the same- - to live a life that provokes adults and children to pursue a lifestyle of integrity, success and happiness. I live by the mantra, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Beyond the school, I am equally passionate about my most important investment and job of being the proud wife of Andre B. Wilson, Sr. and devoted mother of Andre Jr., Joyrdan, and Hunter.
I look forward to having an amazing year of transformation and growth with your children. If I can assist you in any manner, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Know that here at EMS, your children are in good hands. I love them dearly and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it!
