Three Tuscaloosa City Schools have been selected to receive donations of musical instruments through the Morgan Wallen Foundation’s 2026 Tour Give Back Program following Morgan Wallen’s recent concert in Tuscaloosa. 

The gift totals more than $65,000, spread across Eastwood Middle School, Oakdale Elementary School and The Alberta School of Performing Arts. A variPost Nowety of instruments will be donated, including clarinets, trombones, xylophones, a vibraphone and other band and percussion equipment. The donations will help expand access to quality instruments for student performers and encourage continued growth in fine arts education across the district.

The Morgan Wallen Foundation supports youth programs in the areas of music and sports, and its Tour Give Back Program provides donations to communities that host Wallen’s tour stops. He performed at Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 18, with Nick Saban joining him for his walkout.

“These instruments will provide incredible opportunities for our students and enhance music instruction for years to come,” said Mike Daria, superintendent of Tuscaloosa City Schools. “From clarinets and trombones to xylophones and a vibraphone, these donations will allow more students to participate in music programs and experience the joy of performance. We are grateful to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for investing in the arts and supporting music education in Tuscaloosa City Schools.”

“Tuscaloosa has a strong tradition of marching band excellence, modeled especially by the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band, and our students love performing for our school and community,” said Veronica Crawford, band director at the Alberta School of Performing Arts. “We are incredibly grateful for these new instruments and will use them throughout the year. Our percussionists and French horn players will be overjoyed, and the addition of new clarinets and trumpets comes at the perfect time as our program continues to grow with the largest incoming sixth-grade class we’ve ever had. The vibraphone will also add a beautiful new sound to our ensemble and allow students to perform music as it was intended. This is an amazing gift to our program, and we are so appreciative that TASPA was selected.”

The grant is being administered through the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, which partners with organizations nationwide to support school music programs through instrument donations.
